Fourteenth Days of Remembrance
January 05, 2024

Celebration of the International Holocaust Remembrance Day January 27 – February 3. This is a cyclical event that has been taking place in January for 14 years in cooperation with numerous cultural institutions in Łódź.. In Łódź, for the tenth year in a row, during the jubilee edition, in the spaces of the Stefan Jaracz Theatre in Łódź, Marek Edelman Dialogue Center in Łódź, Museum of Independence Traditions, Museum of the City of Łódź, we introduced the world of culture and history of Polish Jews. Bearing in mind the great interest in previous editions of the event, the organizers and distinguished partners prepared numerous attractions for this year year: lectures, theater performances, and film screenings.

In 2017, we started activities thanks to which smaller events are organized in each of our branches. Every year we also join the international campaign #We Remember.

As every year, on January 27, on the occasion of the International Holocaust Remembrance Day, representatives of the Social-Cultural Association of Jews in Poland paid a tribute to the victims of the Holocaust. During celebrations that took place throughout the country, our members laid flowers and lit candles at memorial sites. Including in Łódź (Radegast Station), Warsaw (Monument to the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising Heroes), Wrocław (courtyard of the White Stork Synagogue) and Częstochowa (the site of the former Nazi slave labor camps in Częstochowa). Since 2017, we have been continuously implementing the Special Educational Package as part of the Days of Remembrance  addressed to children and young people. Our youngest recipients are 4 years old and the oldest are high school students. Below we present the program of this year’s edition along with the full program of the mentioned Educational Package
