On 5 September, a ceremony of unveiling of a plaque commemorating a Jewish student club known as the Babel, which was famous back in the 1960s, took place at Nowogrodzka 5. Even though the club formally operated for two years only, the memories and friendships it created, have survived for more than half a century.
The unveiling ceremony was conducted by Artur Hofman, TSKŻ Chairman, who invited the following speakers: Eva Harley, the initiator of the idea for the memorial plaque, and Fred Łuszczyna, the Babel’s top activist. There were also plenty of spontaneous recollections. After unveiling of the memorial plaque, the former club members gathered at our contemporary Babel Club at Próżna 5.
