The agreement signed on 22 May 2025 in Cracow between the University of the National Education Commission and the Social and Cultural Association of Jews in Poland provides for expert cooperation, co-hosting of seminars and conferences, as well as publishing of scientific and popular science materials.

Moreover, next year, the University and TSKŻ are planning to join forces to organise a competition for young people focusing on the history of Jews within the historical region of Małopolska. “I would like to express my gratitude to the Institute of History and Archival Studies for such a valuable initiative. We are deeply involved into regional studies and I believe that this kind of cooperation will further reinforce our position in this field” – said the University’s Rector, Professor Piotr Borek PhD, hab., when signing the agreement. During the meeting in Cracow, it was also revealed that the agreement falls into the framework of the University’s preparations for launching of its new postgraduate programme in the field of history and culture of the Jewish community and other national and religious minorities.

“As TSKŻ, we are much looking forward to our good cooperation and support in our cyclical initiatives which aim at preserving the memory of Jewish life in Poland not only before and during the war, but also in the still little-known post-war period” – said Artur Hofman, TSKŻ President. He added that such agreement paves the way for creating conditions conducive to the mutual exchange of knowledge and experience between both institutions and the achievement of their shared educational and social goals.

The agreement was signed by Artur Hofman, President of TSKŻ, Michał Zajda, representative of the Cracow branch of TSKŻ, and Abraham Hayman and by Professor Piotr Borek PhD, Rector, Robert Stawarz, PhD, Vice-Rector for Education and Development and UKEN Professor, Konrad Meus, PhD, Director of the Institute of History and Archival Science and UKEN Professor, Professor Łukasz Tomasz Sroka, PhD, Chairman of the Board for Discipline of History, and Adam Gliksman, Head of the Promotion Dept.
