The 1920s, 1930s and their melody – i.e. songs sung in Jewish cultural centres in such cities as Odessa, Warsaw, Berlin and Paris in Yiddish, Polish, French, Russian, German and English.

Karolina Trybała – a jazz singer of the Polish origin based in Germany, tutor and translator, organiser of workshops and cultural events.

Karolina was born and bred in Nowa Ruda and emigrated to Germany at the age of 15. While in Poland she was studying Russian and French, and developed her fascination for theatre and literature. After taking her baccalaureate exam in Düsseldorf she was admitted to German Language Studies and Philosophy Department, and obtained a licence of a sworn translator. However, her love for music ultimately prevailed and her passion made her study at the Jazz Department of the Academy of Music in Leipzig. These studies were supplemented by scholarships at the Jazz Department at the Academy of Music in Katowice in Anna Serafińska’s class and in Zurich, where she combined vocals with percussions. Karolina’s academic education was expanded during her numerous travels to Cuba and Africa.

Nowadays Karolina gives concerts extensively, teaches voice classes and organises singing workshops all over Europe.
