This event will be both an opportunity to summarise our long-standing efforts to preserve and promote Jewish culture in Poland, and a celebration for the people, i.e. our activists, creators and members, who have been working for the benefit of our community over many decades.
The 75th Anniversary of TSKŻ – Our Shared History and Future
The Official Part:
The initial part of the event will be dedicated to an overview of the history of TSKŻ and the activities of this major Jewish organisation in Poland, which has been operating continuously since 1950. During the Gala Event, we will also honour individuals who, through their commitment and activities, have had a significant impact on the development of the social and cultural life of Polish Jews.
The Artistic Part:
The Concert – Musical Show “Melodies of Generations / Di melodjes fun dojres”
The second part of the Gala Event is going to include a unique art show representing a sentimental journey through post-war times in Poland.
“Melodies of Generations – Di melodjes fun dojres” This concert is a musical kaleidoscope of songs that not only shaped Polish popular culture, but also accompanied the Jewish community in Poland, often living in two parallel worlds – the Jewish and the Polish one. The programme will cover:
- Polish timeless classics
- Traditional Jewish melodies
- Modern-sounding arrangements
The repertoire will include, among others:
Pieces composed by Polish and Jewish songwriters and artists, such as Władysław Szpilman or Natasza Zylska, and songs in Yiddish, which used to be played at TSKŻ’s premises and clubs.
The concert will also serve as a reminder of the subtle connections between Polish and Jewish culture. We often do not realise how many pieces that have become part of the Polish musical canon were composed or performed by artists of Jewish origin.
Thanks to modern-sounding arrangements by Tomasz Bielski and renditions presented by outstanding solo singers skilled in various musical genres, all these evergreen melodies will be heard once again, with respect for the past and with the future in mind.

TSKŻ’s 75th Anniversary Gala Event apart from presenting a retrospective view, is also a tribute to the future, i.e. to the generations who are trying to reach back to their roots, discover the richness of Jewish culture and build bridges of understanding.
